Citations don't hold up
Perplexity confidently summarizes sources that don't actually support its claims. For real research that's a dealbreaker. Can't recommend it.

Good idea, mixed results
Perplexity is handy for quick research, but I've caught it citing sources that don't quite say what it claims. Verify the links. Your mileage may vary.

Perplexity gives me a direct answer with citations I can actually click. For research it's replaced a dozen open tabs.
